Why Choose Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are preferred among many of our patients because of the speed of the procedure and its overall safety. In a few visits, you can overhaul the appearance of your smile. With modern breakthroughs in dental technology, you don’t have to worry about pain or improper fits—making the procedure an easy choice for many of our patients.
How are Porcelain Veneers Applied?
We start by trimming the tooth. This is necessary because you need a proper surface to place the veneer. We trim the front side of your teeth by removing the enamel.
Once the teeth are trimmed, we take impressions of your teeth, so that the veneers can be modeled in an offsite factory. There is a waiting period of 1-2 weeks to receive the finished veneers. During this waiting period, you will likely be wearing temporary veneers.
After the real veneers are sent in, we remove the temporary veneers, and we begin preparing your teeth for the bonding process. In this stage, we clean, polish and etch your teeth. “Etching” is a process of roughening the teeth—making a more compatible surface to install the veneers.
We commence the bonding procedure. This is a straightforward process of adding cement to the veneer. We place the veneer over the teeth, and once it’s properly positioned, we use a light to activate and cure the cement.
After the procedure, we schedule regular checkups to see how your teeth and gums are responding to the veneers.
